A game for ground on the real map.
What you ride is yours.
The principle
How ground comes to you
You record your bike rides and upload them. A corridor of 30 metres forms around every route you ride, and from that moment it is yours. Close a loop within a single ride and everything it encloses comes with it: a lap around a block, and the block is yours.
You only ever give ground away to a later ride. Whoever rides through after you takes the part they rode through. There is no defending and no advantage from riding early, only the more recent visit.
The modes
The same rides, three readings
The same rides, three times side by side. What changes is the question you ask of them.
Solo
Where have I actually been?
Your history. Every ride you have ever uploaded stays on this map. Solo ground only grows and is never lost, not even where somebody else has long since taken over.
Friends
What have we ridden together?
The same map, but your friends’ rides are on it too, in the same colour. Where contributions overlap, the ground reads denser. No contest, no ranking, just the ground the lot of you have covered.
Global
Who owns this ground right now?
Now everyone has their own colour, and every piece belongs to exactly one of them. The most recent visit is all that counts: where somebody rode after you, your colour is gone.
